Master’s in Applied Technology

Upon graduating with my Graduate Diploma in Computing, I decided to further my studies by exploring more in the field of Cloud Computing, IoT and Cyber Security.

I have a passion for networking and cryptocurrency. All my learning is taught at Te Wananga o Wairaka (Unitec| Te Pūkenga).

Here’s my unofficial academic transcript

Whai ake i te ata tika - Class of 2023

I became a Whai Ake mentoring Roopu member in 2018 and have remained actively involved. Over the years leading up to 2023, we received a stipend through the Unitec Scholarship Programme, encouraging me to stay committed. My dedication stems from the value we place on Whakawhanaungatanga, fostering connections among all our Akōnga (learners), and the program's reliance on my ability to inspire the younger members.

Additionally, the program operates on Tuakana/Teina (older sibling/younger sibling) dynamics. As someone who has completed their first year in Whai Ake and returned for subsequent years, I assume the role of Tuakana, mentoring Teina, typically first-year students, thus perpetuating a supportive learning environment.

Our activities include:

  • Team building activities, games, arts and crafts.

  • Learning a new skill (like Harakeke Weaving or making Kawakawa balm)

  • Learning the history of Bastion Point, Orakei and Unitec

  • Marae-based Activities, including a couple of Noho Marae overnight/weekend retreats.

  • Social Activities (Ten Pin Bowling, Golf Driving Range, Parakai Springs).

  • Last and most important, Academic Learning and Goal Setting.
